Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway

Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway first featured motorsports on June 11, 1904, with horseless carriages and motorcycles on a 1.125 mile dirt oval. Annual events began in September 1915 to coincide with the Tennessee State Fair. In 1958, racers secured a 10 year lease from the state fair board to build a paved half-mile track sharing the frontstretch with a quarter-mile track. The first race was held July 19, 1958.

The track was lengthened between the 1969 and 1970 seasons. Banking was reduced from 35 degrees to 18 degrees in 1972. The track was repaved between 1995 and 1996. Temporarily renamed Music City Motorplex in 2003, the speedway is the second-oldest continually operating track in the United States, after only the Milwaukee Mile.

Located at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds near downtown Nashville, Tennessee, the 0.596-mile paved oval features 18 degrees of banking. A 0.25-mile paved oval sits inside the main track.

Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway hosted NASCAR Grand National and Cup Series races from 1958 to 1984. The track hosted NASCAR Truck Series races from 1996 to 2000. The speedway currently hosts local and regional racing from April through October, concluding annually with the All-American 400, which has been held since 1981.
